Great location, right on the beach. You can walk down the beachfront to Legian in 10 minutes. The very large grounds are peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Pool good with one deep end. Buffet breakfast a bit limited and repetitious after 3 days but good. Plenty of bacon. Staff pleasant.
Bathroom fittings old and pitted. Bath plug and hand sink plug did not work. Toilet running. Air conditioner not cool. In the 4 days we stayed only the air conditioner was fixed. You must boil the water for coffee in the bathroom.
Very comfortable bed and pillows even though resort is dated and rundown. Needs refurbishing. In saying that though the location is great .. Right on the beach. Had a massage and the girl was very good. Food reasonable. I would stay again.
I found the resort was had all facilities that we wanted , The staff were the tops . The food was good with a great breakfast in with the price . The other meals during the day were good and at a very reasonable price . The resort leads on to the beach at Seminyak where there are more cafe type resturants . Taxis are at the front of the resort and very reasonable . Shops and Resturants start at 500 metres outside the resort . The rooms were cleaned and sheets changed every day , water was supplied in bottles every day .
We found the the resort was quite aged . Bathrooms are definately in need of a big renovate . We were given 2 rooms joining on the first floor but next morning had to request other rooms, The bathrooms were not in good shape . Management were only too happy to oblige and gave us a family villa with 2 bedrooms with only a very small extra charge , again bathrooms are very tired but were definately better than the first 2. The swimming pool is very big and water is very clean but unfortunetly the tiles around the pool were very grubby . again the pool area is aged .
The beach frontage, the garden & pool area. Walking distance to all the establishments we go to. The staff are delightful, from the gardeners, housekeepers, restaurant staff to front desk reception - people worth keeping. Even though it may be dated, I know I would rather stay there than the new western type hotels/resorts that seem to be multiplying each visit - I come to experience Bali and I find that the Dhyana Pura delivers that for us.
Cant think of anything
Location and the Gardens
The toilets at the main entry were in a disgraceful condition to say the least. The bathrooms were ok in the hotel but need urgently upgrading
The location was excellent and the gardens being right next to the beach resulted in beautiful cool breezes.
The management of staff is sadly lacking. The cleaning of the rooms is very poor. You receive a folder in your room with absolutely no information inside. The buffet breakfast is hit and miss no cereals are provided for breakfast. Even though they have many services you have to search and ask when you require the service. For example we did not know they had a library. We did not know for a couple of days you could have an egg for breakfast, however when we saw a group of staff standing around a cupboard we investigated and found them cooking eggs on the other side. The kitchen was filthy just a simple wash down would have made all the difference The TV programs are sadly lacking and it looks like the TV was picked up from the side of the road. This is the era of flat screen and cable for the rate they charge. The only thing this hotel requires is a change in management that with a little effort it could be an excellent place to stay.
Close to beach and animation on the beach at night, close to shops and nice restaurant, large bedroom, with nice view from balcony, aircon was working perfectly, good smell left by the cleaning team every morning, along with clean towels and bed linen. Towels for the swiming pool
No one attending the swiming pool bar, spa a little bit small and enclosed, shower leaking
Location is wonderful - just a few steps to the beach. Very calm and pleasant stay, not so many people in the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast (even for a long stay). Rooms are rather big and comfortable with big balcony or terrace. We enjoyed our stay there!
No dryer for wet suits in the room.
The Resort Is a bit run down as they were caught in the Asian Meltdown and I think the Bali Bombings. However the Staff and location were excellent\ They also carry out Training for young people as part of their associaton with the Bali Church The beach restaurants located on the beach are great Breakfast is good It is not an upmarket Resort but gives a real Bali Holiday feel
The Hotel is in very poor condition and in need of a lot of repair. The pool area is a disgrace. Third world. The breakfast was very poor and the kitchen is filthy. Rating of below one star if at all. I recomend that you take it off your books. We booked out as quick as we could.
The location and the large green areas near the poolside.
The room standard is low as the hotel is old, anyhow the beds where comfortable. The breakfast was limited with just a few options
Room was fair, but mold was seen in several places around bath tube I lost a gold chain with a gold "Star of David" on it. If you find it please send to Bobby Rose 315 Third Avenue North Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250 usa
the best thing about Dhyana beach resort it is next to the beach. from my room i can hear the sound of the wave though cant see the sea directly.
the shower in the bathroom not really nice.
Great location on the beach, near good bars and decent surf
The hotel was very comfortable and one of the cleanest I have experienced on my many trips to Bali. It is about 20 years old and the buildings are 3 storey. It felt very secure. The doors had extra chain and bolt locks from the inside. The Hotel is on the beachfront. It has a clean pool and lovely garden areas. There are plenty of sun lounges to laze around on by the pool and in the gardens. The hotel restaurant was an open air Bali style with comfortable furniture. The food was also good. I loved the Gado Gado, an Indonesian dish. It was a half hour walk along the seaside to Legian and probably another half hour on to Kuta. There are plenty of beach bars along the beach where food is also available. The hotel had its own spa room with a good masseuse. It is a quieter location than Kuta, but still close enough to get there easily. I would stay there again.
The rooms did not have their own private safes, although you could use the lock boxes at reception.
